James currently serves as a therapist for the Frisco ISD and has had a private practice in counseling for the past 15 years. He has considerable experience in conducting individual adolescent, adult, marital and family therapy in educational, community-oriented and church settings. Areas of specialization include relationship issues, anxiety, depression, impulse control disorders, issues of perfectionism, bullying, stress management, phases of life issues and coping with guilt. During his career, he has served as a counselor, teacher, speaker, consultant, and a children’s television show host. Over the past 15 years, he has presented school assemblies on bullying, drug prevention and character development to over 2,000,000 students across the country. His work with children has earned him a Regional Emmy and Parents Choice Award. James, a native of McKinney, Texas, holds a M.Ed in Counseling from The University of North Texas and a BS in Psychology from Southwest Texas State University. James and his wife Stacy have been attending Cottonwood Creek for over 15 years. They have a 16 year old daughter, Blakeley, and a 12 year old son, Collin.
