40 Days of Prayer
This devotional series is in conjunction with the current curriculum series all Life and Home Groups are currently going through.
1 Peter 5:8-10
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
As in Peter’s day, modern-day Christ-followers can expect to experience suffering—to some degree—in the battle against sin. But God promises that resistance against sin in an attitude of faith—even while suffering—will bring about His perfecting, confirming, strengthening, and establishing power. Thank God for making you victorious—in advance—over suffering as you draw near to Him in faithful prayer and confidence.
