Cancer Care Ministry

Cottonwood Creek Cancer Care Ministry seeks to offer God’s hope and love through spiritual, emotional, and practical support for cancer patients and their families facing the challenges associated with every type of cancer.

We feel the need is that we recognize that a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming. The support we offer is designed to help families navigate every phase of cancer and face the challenges associated with the diagnosis. Being part of a support group means you do not have to face cancer alone. Many of the individuals involved are cancer survivors and caregivers who understand firsthand what patients and their families go through.

Married Couples Mentoring

At Cottonwood Creek we want to help couples improve their relationships. The Marriage Mentoring process is for couples that are:

  • In a blended family wanting to improve or understand how to function in a new family.
  • Married couples who are hurting or wanting to take their marriages from good to great.
  • Broken marriages made whole by using a solid Biblical foundation.

In our mentoring process we have equipped certified mentor couples to come alongside and invest in the lives of another couple. We use workbooks, journals, resource guides, communication tools, and a state-of-the-art online mentor support system to help couples improve their marriage.

Restoration Process

Intended for couples who are unable to resolve many issues in their marriage that, if not addressed soon, could lead to separation or divorce. This type of mentoring rebuilds healthy relationships by restoring hope and commitment to the marriage. This is done by valuing the spouses’ unique strengths, laying a solid Christian foundation, and learning new tools to use in approaching relationship issues.

Cost: $125

Enrichment Mentoring

The marriage enrichment program is great for couples needing a tune-up or wanting to take their marriages to the next level. Almost every married couple experiences conflicts in their marriage they are unable to resolve. The solutions come when spouses begin refocusing their perspectives, but most will not or cannot do it on their own. They need another couple to come alongside them in a mentoring relationship. Our enrichment process points them back to Biblical principles and guides them to once again find value in the characteristics of their spouse.

Cost: Couples will be asked to pay $125 to cover the cost of the online couple assessment and materials used. Couples who can’t pay the $125 fee will be assessed on an individual basis and if the need is deemed legitimate, they will be asked to pay a lesser amount.

How long will it take? The actual amount of time will depend on the issues being resolved and the commitment of the couple. The process could take between 6 to 12 months. Progress will be evaluated after the first 60 days and again after another 30-45 days.

How do you get started?

Premarital Mentoring

Intended for premarital and newlywed couples, Marriage Mentors provide helpful role models during the premarital stage and first year of marriage. Cottonwood Creek is offering couples to be mentored by being paired with another couple for 7 to 8 weeks, or with a Minister using the PREPARE/ENRICH program for 8 weeks. This program often ensures that premarital couples get more preparation, and get it earlier in their engagement; two factors which promote healthier relationships.
