Cancer Care Ministry

Cottonwood Creek Cancer Care Ministry seeks to offer God’s hope and love through spiritual, emotional, and practical support for cancer patients and their families facing the challenges associated with every type of cancer.

We feel the need is that we recognize that a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming. The support we offer is designed to help families navigate every phase of cancer and face the challenges associated with the diagnosis. Being part of a support group means you do not have to face cancer alone. Many of the individuals involved are cancer survivors and caregivers who understand firsthand what patients and their families go through.

Married Couples Mentoring

At Cottonwood Creek, we want to help couples improve their relationships. This is not a counseling or therapy relationship. We do offer professorial counseling but, the Marriage Mentoring ministry is more discipleship-based exclusively using Biblical principle.

The Marriage Mentoring process is for couples that are:

• In a blended family wanting to improve or understand how to function in a new family.

• The marriage enrichment program is great for couples needing a tune-up or wanting to take their marriages to the next level.

• Married couples who are hurting or wanting to take their marriages from good to great.

• Broken marriages made whole by using a solid Biblical foundation.

Almost every married couple experiences conflicts in their marriage they are unable to resolve. The solutions come when spouses begin refocusing their perspectives, but most will not or cannot do it on their own. They need another couple to come alongside them in a mentoring relationship. Our enrichment process points them back to Biblical principles and guides them to once again find value in the characteristics of their spouse.

Join the “Forever Us” class that meets at 11:00 in room B122. “Forever Us” is a Marriage enrichment class that allows couples to be proactive in their marriage. It involves being learners and receiving feedback as you identify what your relationship needs to become more vibrant or remain vibrant. Topics include Love & Respect; Understanding Personalities; Dealing with Anger; Fighting Fairly, and other communication tools. Marriage enrichment can benefit all couples desiring to strengthen or improve their marriage. You will discover everything God designed marriage to be. This is a 12-week class that meet 3 times a year. The cost is $30 per couple.

Premarital Counseling

There are two opportunities for premarital and newlywed counseling: 1) One-on-one pastoral mentoring; 2) A group setting called “Before We Say I Do.” While the one-on-one mentoring is priced and set up individually with a pastor, the BWSID class is $75 and offered periodically throughout the year. BWSID is a 6-week class and utilizes teaching and mentor couples during the premarital stage, using the PREPARE/ENRICH program. This program ensures that premarital couples get more preparation, and get it earlier in their engagement; two factors which promote healthier relationships.
