Position Requirements

Sunday Morning Small Group leader
The small group leaders are made up of parent leaders and caring adults. For about 20 minutes immediately following the large group teaching, we need discussion leaders (not teachers) for each specific age student groups from  6th-12th grade. Discussion leaders will be equipped to lead discussion from questions written by the youth pastor. We also need leaders to engage the students with activities that will help their students understand the truths that they are learning about.

•    Time commitment is AT LEAST every other week on Sunday.
•    You can serve in Jhigh at 9:30 am - 10:30 am or High School at 11:00 am – Noon.

Sunday morning Check-in Team
We need friendly faces to help us make sure that every student is welcomed and checked in at front of the youth room. The check-in team is made up of parent leaders and caring adults. It is very possible for students to pass through our doors with no interaction from an older role model. We would like to continue to grow a team of leaders that will engage students and help us connect them and their families to Cottonwood Creek. Help us out on Sunday mornings by getting to know our new and existing students and help them fall more in love with Jesus.

Wednesday night Bible study teacher
Responsible for teaching and leading discussion each week based on the provided curriculum. Depending on the leadership available, we can put you on a rotating team so that no one person is overwhelmed. We ask that you stay in contact with students in their weekly lives.
 
•    This is a weekly requirement, but there is more flexibility if you find a replacement.

Wednesday night Bible study leader
This is the perfect job for a parent or other adult that wants to serve, but doesn’t feel like they are ready to teach. In addition to simply being present, leaders can volunteer to coordinate snacks, break into small groups, follow-up with students, coordinate social events, and help coordinate prayer requests. We ask leaders to stay in contact with students they support by getting the students involved and plugged in with the church. Scheduling group service projects, fun nights, or a group community outing will be expected about once a month on our scheduled dates.

•    This is a weekly requirement, but there is more flexibility if you find a replacement.

Special events team
Can’t commit to a weekly schedule? We still want you! We would like to have leaders on standby for when our ministry plans special retreats and trips. Every adult leader can have an impact if you can: Drive, cook, chaperon, host students in your home, lead students, smile, and have fun.
