What to Expect

Check-in and Drop-off

When checking in at one of the kiosks, you will receive an adhesive name-tag with an alpha numeric code to place on your child’s back, a tag with your child’s name for their bag, and a sticker with the alpha numeric code for you to keep. A leader will meet you at the door to receive your child. On the sign in sheet we ask that you list or verify a cell phone number that we can text, if needed, to contact you and check the services that your child will be with us. After you have checked your child in, we ask that you wave a quick goodbye and leave for Worship or Life Group. It is normal for little ones to cry when a parent leaves and this does not last long as separation becomes easier over time. If your child remains upset for an extended period of time, we will text you. Our goal is to create interest in a toy or activity so that you may enjoy your time at church.

When you arrive at the door please have your security sticker available so that we may verify it matches with the code on your child’s name tag. Kindergarten and younger children will only be released to adults with the security tag or proper identification.

What We Provide

Butter cookies are served to our preschool – Kindergarten children. If your child has an allergy, please inform the leader when you check in your child. A couple of times a year we may offer a special treat to our preschoolers and Kindergarteners. There will be an Allergy alert sign posted on the door if special treats are being served.

Your child will hear a Bible story every Sunday in a clear and meaningful way that is easy for preschoolers to understand. We reinforce the story each week by using activities, games, crafts, color sheets, and puppets. Weekly lessons and activities are planned using Standard Publishing’s Heartshaper curriculum.

Your child’s safety is the utmost importance to us. These are the guidelines for our Early Childhood rooms:

      • We require two leaders to be in the classroom in order to accept children for drop off.
      • All of our adult Creek Kids leaders are annually background checked and will be wearing a lanyard with a picture I.D. badge or a security sticker printed from the check in system.
      • Our youth leaders must be 14 years old and completed a Youth Covenant that requires a parent signature to serve without a sponsor.
      • Children will only be released to adults with a security sticker or proper identification, not siblings.
      • We ask that parents stop at the door and not enter the classroom when dropping off your child. This is less disruptive for other children and allows us to know that only background checked adults are in the classrooms.

Opportunities for Parents

Take a Peek

We know that parents may feel a bit apprehensive about leaving their child in the Nursery. We completely understand and would love the opportunity to help ease your fears and answer any questions. If you would like to meet us and take a tour of the Nursery area and learn more about our team and facilities, we welcome you to contact us to set up a tour. Please call or email Konda Mehmen (Early Childhood).
