Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in America, especially for active seniors. We will be scheduling Orientation Classes including coaching basic skill to get started and there will be open courts for those who have previous experience.
Arts and crafts is a Cottonwood Creek 55+ ministry, whose mission is to share the love of creating things and learning new crafts as we fellowship together.
Key focus is to provide different craft activities so that we can learn or share our talents with others.
We are up for trying new things such as- Quilting & Sewing Painting & Drawing Jewelry making Knitting & Crocheting Cross-stitch, Embroidery & Needlepoint Scrap booking & Card making
Our mission is to have fellowship and learn new crafts.
Plan to meet as a large group quarterly at Cottonwood Creek Church. You can bring a craft you’re working on. If you would like to learn a new craft, we will probably have someone who can teach you. For example if making jewelry is something you are interested in, that group would then schedule a time and location to do just jewelry.
Lasting friendships is our goal, while enjoying vehicle related activities in the metroplex area. Please join us and lets do this together.
The club has been active this past year. In addition to Car Shows all over DFW, we’ve also toured… The Car Shop – An excellent facility to store your exotic, work/wash it, get a haircut, visit their lounge, have a drink at their bar, have a meal at The Derby restaurant, or use the Conference Room. Good Guys Show – Texas Motor Speedway – Street rods, muscle cars, lots of vendors, burnout competition, drive the track, lots of extra events, 3-day event The 2024 North Texas New Cars Auto Show – Dallas Convention Center – We got to see the latest 2024 new cars, without the pressure of any sales personnel. Several Electric/hybrid models. Mecum Dallas 2024 – Dallas Convention Center – Very worthwhile if you’ve never been, some beautiful cars, grouped by auction date, several collections. Sam Pack’s Auto Museum – Held in conjunction with a great Ford-oriented car show, this is the one-day when the museum is open to the public; Outstanding collection, Jay Leno quality vehicles. Shelby American Event at Legacy Bank – Carroll Shelby was involved with this bank & this show brings a large collection of Cobra’s (some were “real,” but most were kits) & many Mustangs. McKinney Classic Cars – A great local car show in downtown McKinney with many street rods, muscle cars & classics. Great scenery; convenient to shops/restaurants. Wheels For Wellness – Sundance Square, Fort Worth – Annual event, usually held in the fall, with a huge collection of street rods, muscle cars, classics & low-riders, local vendors. Probably one of the best car shows in DFW; includes an opportunity for men to obtain a free prostate screening from one of the area urology clinic’s mobile unit. Pontiac Southern Nationals – Held in Frisco’s Volleyball facility, this event included G-T-O’s, Fiero’s, Tempest’s, Trans-Am’s & a few “regular” Pontiac’s. Cars & Coffee Grapevine – Over 1200 cars, with large number of exotics (Lamborghini’s, Ferrari’s, Pagani’s, Bugatti’s, etc.) along with Corvette’s, Mustang’s, Viper’s and street rods & muscle cars…Due to lots of congestion, this event will not likely be held here again. Sachse HS / “Mustang Sally” Car Show – Held annually, this was a good nearby car show with street rods & muscle cars, even a few nice pick-up’s. Bubba’s 33 Car Show – We went to their car show several times (it’s generally held monthly) & they had some very nice street rods & muscle cars. They also award nice trophies & plaques. Black-Gold HD/Allen Police & Fire Dept Car Show – Annual event; held next-door in conjunction with the Allen event (held in our lot), feature nice street rods, muscle cars & several unique extra’s. |
