1st - 5th Grade

Sunday | 9:30 or 11 a.m.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our Elementary ministry is a fun and engaging environment that provides your child with large group worship and Bible teaching and small group reinforcement activities that builds an understanding of the God’s Biblical Story and develops relationships
within a Biblical community.

Each Sunday, your 1st – 5th graders are welcome to attend one service hour in Creek Kids. If you attend a worship service and life group, your child is encouraged to attend the worship service with your family.

We are excited you will be joining us and look forward to meeting your family! For a quick check-in process, complete our online “First-time Guest Registration” form for each family member that will be attending Cottonwood.

When you arrive, proceed to the Children’s Welcome Desk in the lobby.  Let our trained check-in desk volunteers know you registered online. They will help complete the check-in process by printing security labels for your children.  Deacons will be stationed at the desk to assist and answer any questions and take you to drop off your children at their classrooms.

GUEST REGISTRATION

Check-in

When checking in at one of the kiosks, your child will receive a security sticker with their name and a three-character code to place on the front of their shirt.

A leader will be near the entrance to welcome your child into the activities underway.

Additional Information for 1st – 3rd Grade:

An additional sticker will print with the matching three-character code for you to keep and use at pick-up. We will not release any child without the code or proper identification.

Pick-Up For 1st – 3rd Grade:

  • When you arrive at pick-up please have your three-character code so that we may verify it matches with the code on your child’s name tag.  Children 1st – 3rd grade can be released to an older sibling with the matching three-character code.

  • 1st – 3rd graders are picked up in the gym located in the secure children’s hall.

Pick-Up For 4th – 5th Grade:

  • We encourage families to identify a meeting place as 4th – 5th graders are released on their own after small groups. 4th – 5th graders can pick up younger elementary age siblings, but they must have the three-character code with them and must exit the gym in the secure children’s hallway.

Snacks

We do not serve snacks on a weekly basis. On occasion, we may offer a special treat to our Creek Kids. There will be an Allergy alert sign posted on the door if food or treats are being served or used for an activity.

Schedule

We start the morning off playing interactive games and singing! Creek Kids then learn Biblical truths using drama and multimedia technology during Large Group. After Large Group we transition to Small Groups. In Small Groups, Creek Kids spend time with an assigned group and leaders. Through activities and engaging conversations, friendships and faith grow deeper. Elementary Creek Kids attend one service and may attend Worship with their family the other service.

Curriculum

1st – 5th Grade: We use the GO! Curriculum. Our Creek Kids go through the whole Bible 5 times by the time they leave the Elementary program.

Security

Your child’s safety is the utmost importance to us. These are the guidelines for our Early Childhood rooms:

  • We require two leaders in the classroom to accept children for drop off.

  • All our adult Creek Kids leaders are annually background checked and will be wearing a lanyard with a picture I.D. badge or a security sticker printed from the check in system.

  • Our youth leaders must be 14 years old and completed a Youth Covenant that requires a parent signature to serve without a sponsor.

  • 1st – 3rd grade children will only be released to adults or older siblings with a matching three-character code security sticker or proper identification.

  • 4th – 5th grade children are released on their own.

  • Parents must stop at the door and not enter the classroom when dropping off your children. This is less disruptive for other children and allows us to know that only background checked adults are in the classrooms.

Can’t be at Creek Kids on campus this weekend? Or, looking for a way to engage your child in a family or personal Bible study time, we have online resources available to you.

Parent Resources

The One Way class is for kids in kindergarten – 5th grade, who have received Jesus Christ as Savior or have questions about what this means. This class is for parents and children to attend together and is a prerequisite to child baptism. Come learn more about what it means to accept Jesus, and what it means to be baptized!

At Cottonwood Creek Church, we want to come alongside and help you on your faith journey. We believe the true “Authentic Faith” is one that thrives both inside and outside the walls of the church building. It is not something that can be compartmentalized or only demonstrated on Sunday mornings.
