I am the Finance Director for Cottonwood Creek Church. I have worked at the church for the last four years but have been a member since 2003. Prior to working at the church, I held various positions in the corporate world.

When & Where You Were Saved: I was saved at the age of ten in March 1974 at Rodgers Baptist Church.

Tell Us About Your Family:My husband, Robert, and I are empty nesters. We met in the singles class here at the church in 2010. Between us, we have three children and five grandchildren.

People Who Inspire You: My grandmother – she had great inner strength, overcoming many hardships in life.

Spare Time Pastimes: I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, movies and reading.

Favorite Bands: Casting Crowns, for King & County, Big Daddy Weave, the Eagles, Alabama

Favorite Scripture: Some of my favorite bible verses are Isaiah 55, Phil 4:13, Josh 1:9 and Jere 29: 11-13.

Dream Vacation: So far my favorite place has been Maui, but I have a long bucket list of places I would like to visit.

Favorite Authors: My favorite authors are Terri Blackstock, Karen Kingsbury and Tessa Afshar.

People Who Inspire You: The people at Cottonwood Creek inspire me – both the staff and the church body. They are dedicated to God’s call on their lives to work and live a life of service to Him. This church constantly amazes me in what it accomplishes for the increase and glory of God. I am proud to call this my church home for 22 years and my place of employment. 

Favorite Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. 

Favorite Movies:  The Sound of Music, The Princess Bride, Indiana Jones series 

Favorite Music/Band/Singers: I love old hymns as well as contemporary Christian music. Toby Mac and For King & Country are some of my favorite bands. Great is Thy Faithfulness is currently my favorite hymn. 

Spare Time Pastimes: If I ever get to the point of spare time, I would like to cook and bake more. 

In Ministry Since: I’ve always enjoyed volunteering in the church but have officially worked at the church since fall 2016. 

Proudest Accomplishment: Raising 2 kids for 10 years as a single mom.

Things You Collect: I love antiques.  If I had the room, I would collect antique glassware and dishes. 

The One Thing You’d Like to Come Back in Fashion: I have a hard time parting with clothes over the years, so it would always be nice for anything already in my closet to come back into (or stay in) fashion.

Catherine Hathaway

Tell Us About Your Family: My wonderful husband, John, and I have been married since 1998.  We have four active children that keep us busy attending various sports and marching band activities several nights a week.

In Ministry Since: My family and I moved to Allen, TX, from Huntley, IL, in 2014 and we found Cottonwood Creek shortly after. It has been a very full few years and we love living here!

It has been my delight and privilege to serve you as the Awana Director at Cottonwood and I’m looking forward to seeing what the Lord has for my family and this ministry in the years to come!

Faith Roberts

Tell Us About Your Family: I’m a Southern girl who’s been married to a Southern boy for the past for the past 25 years. We have a high school-age son, a middle school-age daughter, and a puppy named Dixie.  

Favorite Things: I love Jesus, sweet tea, flip flops and football.   

Education: I hold a master’s degree in Early Childhood, as well as a National Board Certification.   

Proudest Accomplishment: During my career, I was selected Teacher of the Year for the State of Alabama. 

Previous or First Job: I taught preschool and first grade, served as principal of an elementary school and presented Early Childhood Education workshops. I also worked as the Children’s Ministry Director of Petaluma Valley Baptist Church. Currently, I serve as Director of Kid Care Preschool at Cottonwood Creek Church.  

I believe that young children are curious, full of wonder and unique. They need to be provided with activities that are open ended, process oriented, developmentally appropriate, and interesting. They need to be allowed to explore to discover and learn.
